Sycamore, The Great Maple
We all love this tree due to the helicopter seeds we spent half our childhoods throwing in the air before we discovered beer. One of our most practical woods and perfect for spoon carving.
The charcoal is similar to beech but much lighter. The coal is much stronger and more controllable than ash. The best feature of this charcoal is the sweetness it gives to food, this makes it perfect for cooking fish and shellfish along with lighter meats.
One of our woodlands most prolific trees, its is quite striking to see, especially in the sunshine.
